Delayed, lost or damaged baggage 🧳
If your checked baggage does not arrive or is damaged, report it to the airline's baggage service desk before leaving the airport whenever possible.
What to do
- Request a baggage irregularity report or case reference number.
- Keep your baggage tags, boarding pass, booking confirmation and photographs of any damage.
- Ask the airline how to track the case and how to submit a formal claim.
- Keep receipts for essential replacement items and check which expenses are reimbursable.
- Observe claim deadlines. They can be short and vary by journey and applicable convention.
